ANDALUCES
I was selected to qualify for the First Prize "Andalusian future" in the category of Science.
This is a prize called the Jolly Group and Caja Madrid, which has five categories: Sport, Culture, Science, Business and Social Values. In each category have been selected two people from each of the 8 provinces of Andalusia. Now it will be a jury specialist and the Internet decide who will be the winner. So, I ask that you enter the award page ( http://especiales.grupojoly.com/andaluces_futuro/formulario.php ) and vote for my candidacy only if you think you deserve the prize. Thank

Can You Get On A Flight If You Have Pink Eye?
ALMERÍA

Juan Goytisolo was honored yesterday with the National Prize for English Literature for 2008. The Prize is awarded by the Ministry of Culture to distinguish the whole literary work of a English author, written in any of the English language and me, personally, I am proud that a writer so closely associated with Almeria and so committed to the time that he lives and receives a prize.
He says " when you go from the 75, no ambitions at all. I live in absolute freedom and completely out, "but few of us are glad that the recognition has come in life, which are posthumous tributes to politicians.
Goytisolo knows our land and two of his most popular books, Níjar Fields (1954) and La Chanca (1962), are set in our city and province. In the first, the author tells with skill, and hints that allow you to avoid censorship, a territory of emigration, of misery and poverty. In the second, accurate X-ray shows the narrowness of a neighborhood of "class B" of our capital, in the sixties. In this, the social and political exile are connected with fine threads of genius to weave a story that takes us by the hand through the paths of sober work in the film make a particular place and time.
For all you gave us, thank you very much. And for this award, congratulations.

What Does An Hid Ballast Do
Juan Goytisolo and the cancer genome when God rested
past weekend, while the G20 was meeting in Washington was taking place one of those games that end up being studied in history books, and if not, certainly in science. And yes it was Spain by law.
Our country, along with seven other countries around the world, just to establish the International Consortium Cancer Genome, a research project on the genomics of the tumors more ambitious than has taken place. Spain's mission is to sequence the entire genome of more than 500 patients suffering from chronic lymphocytic leukemia compared with the map already available human genome to characterize the molecular basis that predispose an individual to this disease, which affects 15 per 100,000 population per year.
project coordinator in our country will be the researcher Elias Campo, Hospital Clinic of Barcelona, \u200b\u200bhe hopes, within a maximum of five years with an investment of just over 10 million euros, have characterized a genetic map for leukemia. The results obtained by our country and the rest of the countries of the project will be published on the internet, so that a free way to access it both public and private companies.
Undoubtedly, in these times, news like this are a joy. And knowing that we are there, that research from our country brings its bit to promote this ambitious project, a source of satisfaction.

How To Make Homemade Boxing Equipment
There is no doubt that youth is not incompatible with genius. And record it is charged again and again the story, giving us examples of bright young people who have given the world its most glorious works when they were young beardless in some cases, even young childish in others. Pablo Neruda, for example, was barely twenty when he published the poetry most widely read history, " Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair ." Michelangelo had sculpted the " Christ crucified" at the age of seventeen, and twenty-four had done " La Piedad, which can be seen today in St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, and which stands as a masterpiece of a stage artist. And what about Mozart, the quintessential child prodigy who published his first creations to five years and at fourteen and was appointed concert master of Salzburg and Knight of the Order of the Golden Spur, the Vatican.
science paradigms is not without its precocity. James Watson, for example, had only twenty-five when established, with Francis Crick, the famous double helix as a structural model for DNA. And an example, perhaps less known, But also notably, U.S. presents Stanley L. Miller.
Miller was only twenty-three when he proposed to her supervisor to perform an experiment with which to demonstrate the theory proposed some years earlier by the Russian scientist Alexander Oparin. According to this theory, when the Earth did not exist any form of life, would have produced a series of chemical reactions that led to the first organic compounds from inorganic compounds using the energy of ultraviolet rays having an impact on the Earth Electrical discharges that occurred in the atmosphere and the high temperature that was our planet. The director of Miller was somewhat skeptical because he thought the trial could not show conclusive results, but insisted the young scientist and the two devised an experiment aimed at simulating the conditions of the early atmosphere. So, put in a bowl four of which were the main compounds on our planet billions of years such as methane, ammonia, hydrogen gas and water. These four elements provide carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen and oxygen, all necessary for organic synthesis. Subsequently, the mixture was subjected to electric shocks of 60,000 volts to verify that had formed a series of molecules such as acetic acid, glucose and some amino acids. This was demonstrated by the inorganic origin of organic molecules, acquiring this mixture of chemicals called "primordial soup" or "Oparin soup."
Contrary to what Miller thought the director of the experiment was inconclusive. But from there to demonstrate the origin of life was a long journey. Set the line that led to some simple molecules to organize themselves to form a cell necessarily imply the development of a number of assumptions that must be able to link the appearance of fatty Nucleic the emergence of the earliest metabolic reactions. It is now accepted as a valid known as "RNA-world model." According to this theory, RNA, or a relative close proximity to him was the first nucleic acid appeared and it did so naturally and spontaneously, as a simple association of molecules that came to acquire the ability to self-replicate. Subsequently, some lipids, given their chemical properties, hydrophilic head and hydrophobic-body joined to form microspheres, which were much more stable structures, energetically. When these microspheres captured inside to the first RNA molecules, we can say that the first protocell appeared, which could grow and reproduce, thanks to the capability that was acquired to transform the external energy to internal energy for lead metabolism.
The origin of life on Earth has attracted a large number of research areas throughout history. And not only speak of scientific fields. For a long time was the religion that imposed its creationist theory illustrated in the book of Genesis. For her, the seventh day God rested. For science, that's when it all began.
